A man from Camden is facing a long list of charges after allegedly hitting three police officers with a vehicle during a traffic stop last week.

The scene unfolded late on the morning of Thursday, March 14th, at the Walmart on Route 73 in Mt. Laurel, Burlington County.

Joel Carrero of Camden, NJ, Arrested

Officials say officers with the Mount Laurel Police Department stopped a vehicle being driven by 44-year-old Joel Carrero in the store's parking lot.

Carrero allegedly initially provided police with false information so he wouldn't be arrested on an outstanding warrant from the Burlington County Sheriff's Department.

Once advised of the active arrest warrant, Mr. Carrero reversed the vehicle first striking three officers and one passenger with the doors of his vehicle and then striking a police vehicle and finally another vehicle.

The three officers and the passenger all sustained minor injuries and they did not need to be hospitalized.
