Did you know Ocean County has a clam trail? The organization ReClam the Bay has giant hand painted clam shells scattered across the shore towns in Ocean County. Most of them in the southern part of the county. Get the map and full list here. Then you can get the rules here. One day a few years ago my mom, brother, and I did the trail. It was a whole lot of fun.

This was one of my favorite things to do as a kid. I loved being able to feed all of the animals. Not only is it a great place to take the kids, it's also affordable. Get more info here.

Beautiful scenery, historical, and fun. That pretty much sums up Batsto Village. They host special events on weekends, so it's always a good idea to check their site to see what's going on. Get more info here.

This is one of the most interesting things to do in the area. This family owned and operated farm lets you get up close and personal with these very fluffy creatures. Plus general admission is free, but they do have a donation box. Learn more about Jersey Shore Alpacas here.

Lighthouses are scattered up and down the coast of New Jersey. Both along the ocean and the river. See how many you can climb in a weekend.
