Wildwood Catholic alum Jahlil White was named the Big 5 Rookie of the Year for his freshman season at Temple University.

White, who was one of three Owls to play in all 29 games, led Temple in rebounding (6.0 ppg/10th AAC) and steals (33), while ranking second in field goal percentage (.427) while averaging 7.5 points and 25.9 minutes per game. He has two double-doubles on the season and leads the squad with four double-figure rebound games.

White averaged 7.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.1 steals this season for the Owls after missing last season due to surgery for a meniscus tear in his left knee.

While at Wildwood Catholic, White averaged 16.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.4 steals per game, helping the Crusaders to a third straight Cape-Atlantic League Tournament title and the South Jersey, Non-Public B crown, which was their first sectional title since 2007.

As a junior, White averaged 18.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game as a junior, helping lead Wildwood Catholic to the Cape Atlantic League title and the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public A sectional championship.

The Owls went 17-12 this season under head coach Aaron McKie.
