13-Year-Old Charged With Firing Imitation Weapon at Local School Bus
Hamilton Township Police arrested a 13-year-old Mizpah boy for firing an imitation weapon at a school bus in Hamilton Township.
According to a release posted on the Facebook page of Hamilton Township Police, authorities responded to a complaint of a subject firing a weapon at a school bus in the Mizpah section of the township, just after 4pm Monday.
The report states:
Investigation revealed that a Sheppard Bus Company school bus was traveling in the area of Melvin Newton Blvd and Annapolis Ave. The school bus was occupied with numerous children returning from school. A subject jumped out from behind a tree and fired projectiles from the imitation firearm at the bus striking it. No students were injured. A 13 year old male suspect from Mizpah, NJ was identified and today he was charged with 3rd degree Possession of an Imitation Firearm for an Unlawful Purpose and 4th degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. He was released to a family member pending Juvenile Court.
