I don't think I'm overreacting when I say 2018 has the potential to be the worst year ever.

This has nothing to do with politics, but it is very serious...

The International Organization of Vine and Wine warns of a wine shortage for 2018 as a result of low production in 2017.

What am I going to do at night if I can't sit at home and drink a glass of Cabernet Sauvingnon??? Will I actually have to go out and mingle with people?

I think not...

The OIV stated that there were record low production in Italy, Spain and France.

Weather has a lot to do with the record lows in production. The cold spring and droughts in Europe over the summer are to blame.

Worldwide there is an 8% decrease in wine from the year prior.

California saw devastation this year as well with wildfires. Fires tore through wine country over the summer destroying thousands of acres.

The effects of the shortage are unknown, but many speculate this could result in higher prices.

Lucky for us here is South Jersey there are so many local wineries to choose from!
