Absecon Police Investigate Attempted Luring of 14-Year-Old Girl

Police in Absecon are on the lookout for a suspect in an attempted child luring incident.

It happened just after 10pm last night in the area of Pitney Road and Huron Avenue. Police say a 14-year-old girl was walking to a friend's house when a man driving a mid-size four door vehicle pulled up to the curb and told the girl to get in his vehicle. He told her to get in a second time, and she refused, instead running to her friend's house.

According to Absecon Sgt. Robert Ponzetti,

The juvenile described the suspect as a Hispanic male in his mid 30’s. He had dark hair and a large nose. She also described the vehicle as a newer model vehicle with possible NJ tags. The incident occurred on Pitney Road just before Huron. The suspect fled north on Pitney Road towards Galloway Twp.
