Five people from around South Jersey have been arrested for possession of drugs or for running a drug distribution ring that was operating on the streets of Atlantic City, according to police.

Atlantic City Police arrested four adults and a 17-year-old Wednesday morning after police surveillance showed them buying or dealing drugs in the area of South Carolina and Baltic Avenues.

According to a release from Atlantic City Police, complaints from neighbors about drugs being sold and used in their neighborhood led to the surveillance operation.

Detectives recovered 365 bags of heroin and more than 10 grams of cocaine from the people arrested.

Ibn Demps, 22, of Atlantic City has been charged with drug possession, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession with the intent to distribute drugs within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Ricky Gilliard, 23, of Atlantic City has been charged with two counts each of possession of drugs possession with the intent to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute drugs within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

A 17-year old male from Atlantic City was charged with possession of drugs, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession with the intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Mary Inman, 40, of Mays Landing and DeShawn Neiderman, 28, of Ventnor were arrested for drug possession.

They were all released on a summons with a future court date.

It's good to hear that neighbors have had enough of drugs being sold in their neighborhood and are willing to go to the police to have them clean up street-corner drug dealing.
