It's so easy to forget how many people never know when they're going to get their next meal. Many of us here in South Jersey never have to worry about that. While it's wonderful not having food insecurity, so many people in this region do.

The Community Food Bank of South Jersey reports statistics that say almost twelve percent of residents in Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland Counties don't know where their next meal is going to come from. Think about the times in your life when you felt like you were starving. You weren't literally starving, but remember how hungry you felt? At least you knew you were going to go home and enjoy a good meal. What about all the people in this region that don't get to do that?

We're lucky, though. South Jersey has some really awesome people with pretty big hearts that are willing to fight to combat hunger in this part of the state. The town of Pleasantville has partnered with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey to host a free food distribution event on Thursday, January 26th from 9a - noon on Milan Avenue.

The information was shared to various Facebook groups after being shared to the Atlantic County Sherriff's Office's Facebook. So, you don't have to question whether or not the even is legitimate.

Since the event is being held for a few hours, you may think you have plenty of time to get there. I'd say the earlier you get there, the better. Who know how many people will turn up to this thing. If you really want that food, try to get there as soon as it starts.
