Authorities are searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck and killed a person on the Atlantic City Expressway early Wednesday morning.

NJ.com reports the victim, who has not yet been identified, was struck in the eastbound right lane of the Expressway around 1:30 AM near mile marker 35.3, between the Williamstown and Winslow Township exits.

Authorities closed the Expressway for approximately three hours while they conducted an investigation. A description of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian has not yet been released.
