Longport Cop Taken to Hospital After Car is Plowed Into
A special law enforcement officer with the Longport Police Department was taken to the hospital after his parked car was plowed into by a vehicle driven by a Margate woman.
The accident happened Friday afternoon at Atlantic and Evergreen Avenues.
According to Longport Police, SLEO II Matthew Long was sitting in the the police vehicle while it was parked. It was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Alana Farr. Police say an investigation determined she was speeding.
Both Long and Farr were taken to the hospital, treated for injuries and released.
The incident remains under investigation.
