According to a press release sent out today, the North American Meat Institute (NAMI) has donated over 300,000 hot dogs to Feeding America food banks across the country in celebration of National Hot Dog Day.

The goal, the press release says, is to provide food for people in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Among the distributors who've donated to the cause are Dietz and Watson, Boar's Head, Ballpark brand, and Hatfield. Normally, for National Hot Dog Day, NAMI would celebrate by feeding those who work in various government buildings around Washington D.C. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the institute had to switch up the celebrations this year. They've teamed up with Feeding America and have been able to support a bunch of community partners throughout the country including the Food Bank of South Jersey based in Pennsauken.
