NFL Week 1: Jahna’s Top 3 Winning Picks
Football is back, ya'll! That's one of the greatest phrases we get to utter once the kids go back to school every year. It's been a long off-season, but I think we're all ready for our favorites to hit the field again.
Week 1 of the NFL's 2021 season kicked off on Thursday, September 9th with Dallas taking on Tampa Bay. Now, being the die-hard Eagles fan that I am, you'll never see me rooting for the Cowboys. That is unless Tom Brady's in the picture. Not a huge fan of Brady (that's an understatement), so Thursday night left me no choice but to refrain from wishing the worst luck on Dallas. Nevertheless, my crossed fingers for Dallas didn't prevail and Tom Brady's Buccaneers came out victorious.
This week is full of great match-ups, but this season, I'll be providing you with my top three picks of the week. Let's begin, shall we?
First up, we've got to talk about the match-up of the Green Bay Packers and the New Orleans Saints. Personally, I feel like the smart pick will be placed on Green Bay this week. Let's break that down. For one, they have a solid chance since quarterback Aaron Rodgers won't even be facing a first stringer on Sunday. On top of that, it was announced that the game will be played on neutral ground since New Orleans is still cleaning up from Hurricane Ida. The smartest move would be to go with the Packers.
Next, we've got to talk about how this season should (keyword there) take shape nicely for the San Francisco 49ers. Last year, the team was riddled with injuries. It really hurt the organization overall during their 2020 season, but this team isn't the same one it was last year. Everyone's healthy and ready to make something happen. Regarding their match-up with the Detroit Lions this weekend, they won't have anything to worry about. They can easily handle the Lions' defense, so they should be able to walk away with the 'W' in week one.
Only time will tell if I'm right! Yay football!
