Retired Atlantic County Sheriff’s K9 Bloodhound Luke Dies

The Atlantic County Sheriff's K9 Department is in mourning today over the passing of longtime K9 dog Luke.

K9 Luke was a Bloodhound, who was trained to track missing individuals in addition to criminal offenders. K9 Luke was approximately four years old when he was partnered together with Officer Kleinow and served the department faithfully for over nine years.

Officer Kleinow recently made the decision to retire K-9 Luke from service.

Luke was responsible for 89 successful tracks during his career with the Atlantic County Sheriff.

Luke was taken to St. Francis Veterinary hospital this morning as his health began to rapidly decline. He passed surrounded by his K-9 family along with Michele.
