One of the great South Jersey shore bars says a final good-bye this Sunday.

LaCosta Lounge in Sea Isle City has posted a Facebook message saying this Sunday will be their final day of business, the final "Sunday Funday" as the day was known at the Landis Avenue spot famous for rowdy crowds and great live music since 1972.

The news that LaCosta is closing is not new. The LaCosta site was sold for over $7 million to developers in 2018, who plan to use the 50,000-square-foot property for a combination hotel and restaurant to be known as The Ludlam.

There had been rumors, however, that LaCosta Lounge might remain open for one more summer. Wednesday's Facebook post put those rumors to rest.

It’s last call after all. LaCosta opened its doors in 1972 and we have had so many good times. Thank you to everyone who has walked through our doors over the last 48 years!
