Severe Storms Drench South Jersey; Funnel Cloud, Waterspout Reported

It was just last week when lawns and gardens were turning brown across South Jersey and people were wondering when we would see some rain.

Today, we got more than "some" rain.

A slow moving band of heavy thunderstorms crossed South Jersey Monday afternoon dumping nearly a month's worth of rain in spots in just a matter of hours.

And it was more than just rain -- the National Weather Service office in Mt. Holly reports a video shows what looks like a funnel cloud in the Buena-Folsom area and another video shows a waterspout off Stone Harbor.

Storms also produced half-inch hail in Wading River, along the Atlantic-Burlington County line, and also in Cumberland County.

Along the coast of Delaware Bay, a wind gust to 61 MPH was reported.

In Ocean City, the National Weather Service reported car hood-deep water at some intersections. Driving through the seaside town was difficult Monday evening and we saw at least one car being towed away.
