Showboat Targeting Gamers with New Facility
Set to open Memorial Day Weekend, Showboat Atlantic City will debuting Atlantic City Fan Expo. It'll be a 150,000 square-foot gamer's paradise.
Showboat Atlantic City says they will be targeting millennials with their new entertainment complex. It will feature: board games, esport competitions, video games, cosplay, educational seminars, and anime according to the Press of Atlantic City. The Atlantic City Fan Expo will be taking over where the House of Blues theater used to be.
Bart Blastein, owner of Showboat, said they wanted to have a facility that targeted the younger generation. Blastein said, "Gamers and esports is the largest sport in the world. It crosses all lines — male, female, all languages and backgrounds."
The new facility will also have a sandlot beer that's replacing a volleyball court that currently sits there. The beer garden will feature movies, live music, and family friendly.
The Atlantic City Fan Expo will be open weekends during the summer.
More details to be released today (April 5) at 5pm on their site acfxpo.com
