It was right around the beginning of fall in 2014 when a police officer in Burlington County nearly lost his life when a bullet struck his patrol car. Now, two men have been indicted for allegedly being involved in the shooting.

Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina says 24-year-old Tayron Brown of Trenton has been indicted on charges of first-degree attempted murder, first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated assault.

Brown’s co-defendant, 23-year-old Kavon Carter of Pemberton Township, was indicted on charges of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and aggravated assault.

Both were initially charged in September, 2019, but the indictments were delayed because grand juries were not convened during the peak of the pandemic.
