The Cape May County Prosecutor's Office says two Lower Township men have been arrested on first degree strict liability for drug induced death charges.

79-year-old Francis Leszczynski and 59-year-old Paul Neville, both of Lower Township, were arrested on January 17th.

Authorities say on July 30, 2018, Cape May Police responded to a 9-1-1 call of an unresponsive female at a home in the 700 block of Grand Avenue in West Cape May. Police discovered 59-year-old Susan Perkins on the floor next to her bed. Rescue efforts were not successful. An autopsy determined that Perkins’ death was from the effects of ingesting heroin and fentanyl.

An investigation revealed that both Leszczynski and Neville were responsible for selling and facilitated getting the heroin that Perkins ingested.

On January 17, Leszczynski and Neville were arrested and charged with strict liability for drug inducted death. Neville was also charged with hindering apprehension. Both were lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending court proceedings.
