Vineland Police Investigate Stabbing
Police in Vineland say a 27-year-old local man was stabbed in the neck and hand, and is currently in stable condition at the hospital.
Police say the incident happened Monday evening in the 700 block of South Sixth Street. When police arrived on the scene, about 7:30pm, they found the victim laying in the middle of the street.
Police determined the victim was stabbed by Wilfredo Navarro, 27, of Vineland. Police say the two had a verbal confrontation that escalated into the stabbing incident.
Police say that "Navarro was located at his residence and taken into custody without incident and charged with the following: Criminal Attempt Murder. Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose and Unlawful Possession of Weapon."
Navarro is being held in the county jail, awaiting a court appearance.
