Vineland Police Say Don’t Open Your Door For This Guy
A warning from Vineland Police: Be wary of who you let into your home.
Police have provided the accompanying photo of a man they believe is the same man who's been posing as a Vineland Municipal Electric Utility, trying to talk himself into people's homes.
Police ask that if you can identify the man, please call Detective Charlie Mackafee at 856-691-4111, extension 4317.
Wednesday, a person who identified himself as a VMEU worker to a resident in the area of Edna Drive and Junior Drive. Police say he matched the description of a man who seems to have tried the same ruse in the city in the last few weeks.
Here's what police are telling residents:
Residents are reminded that City of Vineland Municipal Utilities have ID badges with photos, and field employees wear uniforms and drive VMU Department vehicles which prominently display the VMU logo.
Residents who may encounter this situation are encouraged to contact Vineland Municipal Utilities Dispatch to verify that there is a worker at their residence. Residents are also encouraged to contact the Vineland Police Department immediately at 856-691-4111 or 911 if a subject matching this description attempts to gain entry into their residence
