22-Year-Old Galloway Man Arrested Driving Stolen Vehicle
A police pursuit in Galloway Township was called off for the public's safety, but police were able to eventually find and arrest the suspected driver.
Galloway Township Police say the incident unfolded on July 2nd, following a complaint of a driver driving erratically in the area of Mahave Drive. Occupants in the care were also said to be harassing people in the area. Police were able to locate the vehicle, which had suspicious plates. A stop occurred, but the vehicle then fled the scene.
Police say a pursuit was quickly called off, due to the danger to the public.

With the assistance of officers from the Atlantic County Sheriff’s Office, the involved suspects and vehicle were located in Atlantic City. Ptl. Gorneau responded to that scene to further investigate. The vehicle was determined to have been stolen out of Atlantic City. The Atlantic City Police Department recovered the stolen vehicle. The operator of the vehicle was determined to be Joseph Martinez, a 22 year-old resident of Galloway Township. Martinez was arrested and charged with Eluding Police, Receiving Stolen Property, Obstructing the Administration of the Law, as well as numerous traffic offenses which were placed on a summons. Martinez was subsequently lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on unrelated warrants.
