AC Man Indicted For Assault, Threatening To Cut Women’s Head Off
UPDATE: According to a motion filed on September 22, 2021 by Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Cary Shill, the charges in this case have been dismissed.
An Atlantic County Grand Jury has indicted an Atlantic City man who allegedly struck one person in the head with a baseball bat, and threatened to "cut a woman's head off and throw it into the woods."
Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner says the defendant, 38, faces several charges, including:
"One County of this degree Terroristic Threats
One Count of third-degree Possession of a Weapon for Unlawful Purpose
One Count of fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon
One Count of third-degree Purpose/Knowing Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
One Count of fourth-degree Reckless Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon."
According to Tyner, "The charges stem from two incidents, one occurring in Atlantic City on April 18, 2019 and the other in occurring in Egg Harbor Township on April 19, 2019. On April 18, 2019, the defendant is alleged to have threatened to cut L.M.’s head off and throw it in the woods and also to cut her lips off and knock her teeth in. On April 19, 2019, the defendant is alleged to have assaulted D.M. with a baseball bat causing injury to D.M.’s head."
