Armed Robbery in Absecon Results in Arrest

A strong armed robbery at the Absecon Rite Aid Sunday afternoon resulted in an arrest.

According to officials at the Absecon Police Department, a Hispanic man attempted to conceal merchandise in his pants while leaving the store, shortly before 4pm Sunday. He was confronted by store employees, and proceeded to assault the store's assistant manager and another employee. Employees called police and attempted to watch the man as he fled across the White Horse Pike.

A perimeter was set up in the area, and police arrested Ronell Ruiz, 33, of Egg Harbor City.
