Bear Sighting In Winslow Township
**UPDATE: There has also reportedly been a sighting of a black bear in the Monroe Township section of Williamstown, according to thesunpapers.com. Authorities are once again encouraging anyone who spots it to call the Department of Environmental Protection.
Bears are all over the state of NJ lately! The most recent sighting witnessed in Manahawkin last week.
Well, almost a week to the day later, it appears the bear may be on the move....
While there's no way to confirm it's the same bear from up the Parkway, a bear is apparently closer to Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May Counties this week. The Winslow Township Police Department first warned residents Wednesday to keep an eye out. They first received a tip on June 10th that a bear was spotted on two separate occasions and warned people not to attempt to take selfies with it.
The police then shared an update yesterday regarding a sighting on Johnson Road; this time with pictures:
Authorities are asking South Jersey residents to call the Department of Environmental Protection's Hotline if they see any sightings or potential damage at 1-877-WARN DEP (1-877-927-6337).
