A Bridgeton man is facing charges after police carried out a search warrant at his home Tuesday.

Bridgeton Police say the search at the Taylor Street home of James J. Lewis turned up more than 80 bags of suspected heroin and over 40 bags of suspected crack cocaine.

Bridgeton Chief Michael Gaimari Sr. said the investigation was conducted bvy the department's Anti-Crime Team and the execution of the search warrant by the department's Tactical Entry Team. He said the operation was conducted without incident or injury to all involved and lauded the efforts of the officers involved.

"Ever since we were able to free the manpower to fortify the ACT (Anti-Crime Team) again they have been aggressively investigating some of the problem issues and areas in the city," the Chief commented, "this is just one and more will follow."

Police say cash was also recovered. Lewis is being held in the Cumberland County Jail, waiting for a court appearance.
