A 27-year-old Bridgeton man tried to run on foot from police following a traffic stop and was caught. He tried again. He was caught again.

Bridgeton Police say they conducted a traffic stop at 10:42am Wednesday on Garfield Avenue. When they ordered Marquis Johnson to exit his vehicle, he took off running on foot. He was caught by officers and returned to the scene of the traffic stop.

Police say they found marijuana and a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun. Once again, Johnson attempted to flee on foot, but once again he was caught by officers.

He faces numerous charges and is being held in the Cumberland County Jail
