While you've been sitting in the sun and enjoying the last couple weeks of summer, police officers in Brigantine have been hard at work arresting people suspected of burglaries.

Brigantine Police say a citizen called them on August 23rd and said he found a man burglarizing his vehicle. The man chased the suspect and two Brigantine officers were able to arrest 18-year-old Daniel Pino of the city. Pino was charged with burglary and theft and released on a summons.

On September 3rd, officers were investigating a burglary at the Brigantine Seaside Market. Surveillance video showed a person entered the store three nights in a row and stole cash from the register and merchandise. 28-year-old Ivan Diaz of the city was positively identified, arrested, and charged with burglary and theft. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on a warrant.

Then, early Tuesday morning, an officer was patrolling the area of 40th Street regarding reported motor vehicle burglaries in the area. He observed a person on a bike matching the description of a burglar captured on surveillance video. After a brief foot pursuit, 20-year-old Richard Brown, also of Brigantine, was arrested; he was charged with multiple motor vehicle burglaries from August 28t to September 4th. Brown was released on a summons.
