Christmas Event In Tuckahoe Helps Feed Local Families and Shelters
With the Holidays right around the corner, Liz Bready from Tuckahoe is making use of her farm to hold a Christmas event, open to the public, that not only helps raise money for the farm but local families in South Jersey as well!
For the past 5 years, the Bready Farm has sold tickets ($3 per child and $1 per adult) to their annual Christmas event that provides attendees with 1 hot chocolate per person, 1 handcrafted ornament per family, feed bags for the kids to feed the animals, hay rides, farm carolers, and a visit with Santa Claus! Theres also additional activities like paint ball and face paint! And of course, the farm sells live and precut Christmas trees.
But the best part of this event every year is that the Bready farm holds a canned food drive and pet drive to help feed local families in need! With a donation of any canned or boxed food items, the Bready family takes a trip to the local church food pantry and animal shelter to deliver all the donated goods for other families and animals who need some love during the holidays.
All people that are involved in this event are volunteers, who spend their free time doing a dose of good for the community. Though the purpose of this event is to help raise money for feed and repairs for the farm, it's also to shine a light on the farm carolers who perform in other charitable events around the county, and to help feed local families and help local animal shelters!
The event is this Saturday, Dec 9th from 2pm-4pm at the Bready Farm located at 81 Rt 49 Tuckahoe NJ 08250
