In an effort to preserve some of that, it's been reported that Governor Phil Murphy announced a deal earlier today with Atlantic City Electric that signs over the ownership of the land in Cumberland County known as Holly Farm to NJ's Department of Environmental Protection.

NJ.com reports the deal was struck in an effort to preserve some of the endangered species in the area as well as a slice of New Jersey's natural resources. The area of land subject to the deal lies in Millville. The governor has apparently expressed an interest in protecting the area's ability to withstand harsh and fast climate change. The deal has yet to be finalized, with word on the closing of the deal expected by the turn of the new year.

No financial specifics regarding the land has been released.
