A man from Cumberland County died Thursday night in a one-vehicle crash in Maurice River Township.

NJ.com reports 41-year-old Leonard Willis of Cedarville was traveling north on County Road 616 just before 11PM Thursday when his pickup truck left the road and hit a pole and several trees, according to State Police.

This was the second fatal crash in South Jersey on Thursday. Just hours before the incident in Cumberland County, 31-year-old Darryl Crowder, Jr., of Hammonton lost his life in an accident on the White Horse Pike in Galloway Township. There, police say Crowder, who was driving a motorcycle, was traveling eastbound when a westbound car driven by a woman from Vineland turned in front of him at Cologne Avenue. Crowder was taken to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City where he died of injuries sustained in the head-on crash. The other driver had minor injuries.

Both accidents remain under investigation by authorities.

Anyone with information on the crash involving Willis is asked to contact troopers at the New Jersey State Police barracks in Woodbine at (609) 861-5698.
