This Wednesday, March 6th, is Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent for Christians around the world. Lent is the time in the Christian calendar during which we prepare ourselves for Easter. Look at it as a time to do some spring cleaning of the soul, if you will. To be honest, it's probably not a bad idea for anyone regardless of your belief system to take some time to recenter yourself in an effort to better your overall well-being and mental state.

This can, obviously, be done any time of the year, but if you're taking part in Lent, you're most likely giving something up in an effort to practice self-discipline and reground yourself in preparation of the Easter celebration. The most common tradition practiced during this time is fasting. If this is what you choose to do, why not take a page out of Pope Francis's book:

What a nice perspective. Not a bad idea, huh? Instead of fasting from food, fast from negative thoughts and vibes. If you choose to celebrate, cheers to a productive and healing Lenten season!
