Published reports say a woman from Millville was shot in the chest during a drive-by shooting in the city over the weekend.

NJ.com reports a 39-year-old woman was outside of her home in the 200 block of East Oak Street at around 1AM Saturday when a vehicle drove-by and opened fire. Witnesses report hearing five shots and at least one bullet stuck the woman in her chest.

The victim was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital in Camden; she was last listed in critical but stable condition.

"As of this point were still working on a motive, but it's not believed to be a random incident," Millville Police Capt. Ross Hoffman said to The Press of Atlantic City.

The shooting remains under investigation and no arrests have yet been made. Police did not release a description of the vehicle involved.
