EHT Community Center Evacuated Saturday – All Safe

A tense afternoon Saturday at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center, as police evacuated the building. Everything turned out OK.

Egg Harbor Township Police say they called for the building's evacuation after suspicious electronic noises were coming from one of the restrooms.

Police evacuated the building at 2:44pm and determined the beeping noises were coming from a disposable diabetes meter discarded in a trash can.

Twenty minutes after being evacuated, patrons were allowed to reenter the building.

Police say there were no injuries in the evacuation process.
