EHT Man Charged with Killing Dog

An Atlantic Country Grand Jury has indicted an Egg Harbor Township man in the death of a pit bull back in January.

Steven D. Geisel, 50, was indicted on a 3rd degree crime of animal cruelty for the bludgeoning death of a female pit bull in a wooded area near Ocean Heights Avenue.

According to Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain, Geisel beat the dog to death with a blunt object, that resulted in the dog's death.

Geisel is being held in the Atlantic County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. If convicted, he could be sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison.
