Five Hour Standoff Ends Peacefully in North Wildwood NJ
Some tense times in North Wildwood Sunday as a man barricaded himself in an East 6th avenue residence and refused to come out.
Police say they were called just after 11 am to do a "safety check" on a Haverton, Pennsylvania 18-year-old man. When police arrived, the man at first didn't respond, then he made contact with police, and refused to come out.

Police say "Members of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Cape May County SWAT Team, and Crisis Negotiation Team responded to assist along with North Wildwood Fire Department. "
It was more than five hours later that the man was finally taken into custody, without incident. Police have not released the man's identity, but they say he was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center for an evaluation.
