Galloway Twp. Public Schools to Go All-virtual Starting December 14th
As cases of COVID-19 continue to spread across the Garden State, Galloway Township Public Schools will be going all-virtual starting next week.
A letter to parents posted on Facebook Monday morning by Annette Giaquinto, Ed.D., Superintendent of Galloway Township Schools, says that based on an assessment of the current situation regarding COVID-19 and after consultation with the Atlantic County Departments of Education and Health, the following steps will be taken:
Effective the week of December 14, 2020, all schools will transition to an all virtual setting for students. This will continue through January 15, 2021. Please note that this is only seven days' total that would have been in-person for each cohort of students.
All students in the hybrid model are reporting in-person as per the usual schedule this week. Although a family may be inclined to keep their children home, I urge you to have students attend this week. Teachers will be preparing them for the transition to all virtual, including distributing any materials they may need.
More detailed information for families and staff members will be provided later this week.
In-person learning will tentatively begin again Tuesday, January 19th, as long as this region doesn't move into the very high/red COVID category or situation develops where there aren't enough staff members to teach at the orange level. If necessary, all-virtual learning would be extended beyond January 19th.
