Go to These South Jersey Restaurants Before Summer
The Asbury Park Press published a list of Jersey Shore restaurants locals need to get to before the summer tourists make their way here. They included nine seasonal restaurants in their list, four of which are in South Jersey. With Memorial Day Weekend is upon us, locals need to get to these eateries before the wait times get to their normal summer level.
Did your favorite seasonal restaurant make the list?
- 1
The Chicken or the Egg - Beach Haven
APP.com said, "Kids count down to the end of school. Parents count down to the end of summer. The rest of us count down to opening day at the CHEGG." That's pretty accurate. They will begin staying open 24/7 for the summer season soon. Local tip: go super late at night to avoid the crowds or download the No Wait app to schedule your reservation and see where you are in line.

Shore Fire Grille II - Surf City
This is a perfect spot if you're coming from the beach with outdoor seating and takeout. They also do a burger of the month on top of their long list of juicy burgers. Their original location, and location that is open all year long, is in Manahawkin.

Terrace Tavern - Beach Haven
If you're by the beach, you need to get some seafood. Terrace Tavern offers fresh seafood from Viking Village. They offer steam pots and other fresh seafood dishes. My brother and I have a theory that the seafood restaurants that look like shacks have the best seafood.

Viking Fresh Off The Hook - Barnegat Light
The Viking Village is home to commercial fishing docks, which makes for some pretty fresh fish at local restaurants. Viking Fresh Off The Hook offers exactly what its name says, fresh off the hook. The restaurant is known for lightly seasoning the fish as to not mask the fresh fish taste. Remember that theory about fish shacks?
