Hamilton Township K-9 Aids in Arrest of Suspect
Hamilton Township Police K-9 Argos deserves an extra treat, following his involvement in the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of various items.
Police say that Sunday afternoon they responded to a shoplifting complaint from the ACME in the Festival Shopping Center on the Black Horse Pike. A suspect had fled into the woods prior police arriving.
As police were checking the area, they discovered and arrested a suspect, Kenneth Calverley, 28, of Pleasantville.
According to police, Officer Silvio and her K-9 partner, Argos arrived on the scene and began a search of the woods where Calverley was thought to have originally hid. Argos made a successful track and led officers to stolen items, plus some drug paraphernalia.
Police say "Calverley was charged with shoplifting, obstruction of justice and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on an unrelated warrant."
