Harry Hurley has confirmed that the Atlantic City Race Course in Mays Landing will close.

The Atlantic City Race Course opened on July 22, 1946. Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope, Sammy Kaye, and other legendary stars attended.

In recent years, a short live racing season in the spring was in place along with daily simulcasting kept the track open. This revenue will now go to the North Jersey race tracks.

This is a big loss for Atlantic City. It's been rich in history. Public relations work is now required, so this does not fuel a false, negative bias towards the health of Atlantic City.
