A social media influencer from Gloucester County is facing a lawsuit accusing her of misleading followers.

Social media influencers have earned their title for a reason: They can encourage or discourage legions of fans to do like they do.

Casey Olivera, who goes by Dana Chanel on Instagram, has racked up nearly 800,000 followers reviewing beauty and hair care products, chronicling her pregnancies, and advocating for black-owned businesses.

Her IG page states the Sewell, New Jersey native is the owner of two brands, one called Curl Bible, the other Sprinkle of Jesus.

However, she also shares Credit Exterminators/Earn Company with her sister, Cassandra April Olivera, and Alakazam Apps with her dad, Nakia Rattray, two Philadelphia-based ventures, according to 6abc.com.

Now, Olivera and those family members are being sued by Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro over claims those companies scammed customers and failed to provide the goods and services promised, 6abc.com reports.

Shapiro's lawsuit mentions a non-profit organization that enlisted the services of Alakazam to build an app. It cost $2,000 but was never created.

The Oliveras' Credit Exterminators/Earn Company reportedly has an F-rating with the Better Business Bureau with a dozen unanswered complaints. Alakazam Apps is in similar standing.

The Attorney General's Office urges anyone with similar complaints about either of Olivera's companies contact Bureau of Consumer Protection at 800-441-2555 or file a complaint via the office's website here.
