Linwood Police Warn Against Strangers Coming to Door For Money
It's the world we live in, I guess.
Police in Linwood are warning local residents to be wary of strangers knocking on their door, asking for small amounts of money for various "emergencies."
Here's the statement from Linwood Police:
The Linwood Police Department would like to remind our residents to not engage with strangers knocking on residents' doors and asking for money, despite whatever excuse the person may give. We are aware of a situation in which someone is going around and asking for small amounts of money, citing car troubles. Legitimate solicitors must have an approved solicitation permit issued by the Police Department and must display the permit on their person. If someone comes to your door and the situation does not seem right, please call the Police Department at 609-927-5252 and an officer will respond to investigate.
