Local Families Encouraged to Send Love to Local Baseball Legend
A local mom is encouraging area families to send cards and letters to a Margate man who has spent his years teaching and coaching baseball to many local youngsters.
Bobby Woods Sr., 70, of Margate was severely injured after alleged being beaten by his own son a little more than a week ago.
Now, a local mom is urging local families to reach out to show Woods how much they care. Debbie Off, of EHT has posted on an Egg Harbor Township Facebook Page the following message:
Have your kids of all ages do a simple life changing good deed........let’s make him do his Bobby laugh that we all know and love! Send a purchased card or make a card, send your kids' pictures, flowers.....to Bobby at Bacharach Rehab! Let’s come together and show love for someone who always gave love and great baseball coaching!
Please take the time for someone who gave his time to MANY.
Thank you
Debbie says that her 13-year-old son Craig has trained with Bobby, and they talked about something they could do for him. "We started thinking what we could do to make him feel support for a speedy and full recovery. As I saw posts of the terrible assault, how the alleged person was let out of jail on home arrest, it broke my heart not to see any support for Bobby....only the sad and the negative seem to get media attention."
Debbie adds, "I hope this reaches him. I pray he heals and all the lives he touched in a positive way will love him back."
The address to send the cards is:
