Lower Township Police say they responded at 1:27am to the report of a man who had barricaded himself inside his Carolina Avenue residence.

Lower Township Police responded, as did the Cape May County Regional SWAT and Hostage Negotiation Teams.

Here's what happened, according to police:

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the subject was the lone occupant inside the residence.  After a short period of time, the subject agreed to exit the residence and was transported to Cape Regional Medical Center.

Thankfully, no one was hurt and the event ended peacefully.

Great job!
