Authorities say a man from Vineland has died after he was pushed and he hit his head on a sidewalk. The man who allegedly pushed him has been arrested.

The Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office says 34-year-old Raul A. Figueroa-Argueta of Vineland was arrested on Tuesday and charged with Aggravated Assault and Endangering an Injured Victim.

According to authorities, the scene unfolded Monday evening after Vineland Police responded to the area of the Payless Liquor Store for an unconscious man, later identified as 54-year-old Pablo Cruz-Bautista of Vineland.

An investigation revealed that the victim was pushed while he was on the sidewalk. Cruz-Bautista is believed to have fallen and then he hit his head on the walkway.

The prosecutor's office says Cruz-Bautista was airlifted to Cooper Medical Center in extremely critical condition. He died Tuesday evening.

Figueroa-Argueta is being held in the Cumberland County Jail. The charges against him may be upgraded now that the victim died.
