Dear Mike Trout,

Please consider this your official invitation to come and bowl turkeys with us Wednesday morning from 7-10 am at Galloway Auto and Tire on Route 9 in Somers Point.

(If you are not Mike Trout, your assignment is to share this story so it will get to Mike Trout!)

So, Mike! You're home! We know that because a little birdie (named Mike Trout) told us!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) we're carrying on a South Jersey tradition that goes back to 1998! We're bowling turkeys! It's the 23rd edition of the Joe Kelly Turkey Bowling Challenge!

Mike, 23 years and you haven't made it to a single one!

Let's go, baby! Let's go!

If you're unfamiliar with Turkey Bowling, it works like this: You show up, we hand you a frozen or (depending on when you arrive) a formerly frozen turkey. At that point you either bowl (as in traditional bowling) or you chuck (as in throwing a football) down our turkey bowling alley to attempt to knock over our pins.

Mike, I know that you're a pretty good athlete and all, but I'm not sure you can do this! It takes a special kind of person to bowl a strike with a turkey, and since you've been absent for the first 22 editions, you might be too raw. Just too raw, Mike.

Yes, bring the wife and kid - everyone can try!

So, Mike Trout, what do you say? Is a little Turkey Bowling in your future? If your answer is YES, we'll see you there. If your answer is NO, well, that's just not polite.

Love you, Mike! See you there!

Sincerely,

Joe Kelly (Jahna says "Hey!")
