Missing Ocean City Kite Surfer Found Alive and OK

What a great post-Thanksgiving story!

Many feared that a missing kite surfer in Ocean City met a tragic ending, but that's not the case!

According to Ocean City Police, the surfer had run into difficulty Thursday afternoon and ended up cutting his kite away, and paddling to safety.

Police say he was unaware that the Coast Guard had launched an investigation into his accident until late Thursday.

The coast guard had conducted a search after locating the kite in the water off the 5700 block of the beach.

The identity of the surfer has not been made public.
