How Much Are Parents Sharing About Their Kids On Social Media?

Once something is online, it can be hard to take it back. Even if a post seems harmless, it might expose kids to unwanted attention or even potential dangers. Even if the post seems harmless or hilarious, don't forget that employers usually do an online deep dive to vet potential candidates. If a parent shares embarrassing moments or private information, it could come back to haunt the child later on. They might not appreciate having their childhood moments showcased when they're trying to be taken seriously as young adults.

According to the folks at HostingAdvice.com, the kids that get posted the most are those 10 and under. Apparently, 64% of parents with kids under the age of 10 are likely to post their child online. 26% of parents do so to a public account.

Being mindful about what to share isn’t just about protecting privacy; it’s about respecting kids’ rights and helping them navigate a digital world that can be tricky. It’s all about creating a safe, respectful online space for everyone, isn't it? Don't forget, your kids are included in that.
