The city of Pleasantville is hiring police officers and they would like nothing more than to find some good, local recruits.

The Civil Service application period continues until August 31 and Pleasantville Police Chief Sean Riggin is hoping to find new officers to replace several who have been promoted or are retiring.

Riggin told the Press of Atlantic City,

“We are on a pretty steady hiring cycle as people retire...we need more applications from local young people. They need to be in good physical shape and able to pass a background check.”

According to the Pleasantville Police website, the starting salary for a new recruit to the force is $43,589 plus benefits and pension.

To apply, you must have a valid New Jersey driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and you may have to agree to a criminal background check.
