On Thursday evening, a ShotSpotter alert detecting a gunshot led to the arrest of two men, three women, and the recovery of a handgun in Atlantic City.

According to police, ACPD officers responded to the 200 block of Arizona Avenue for a ShotSpotter alert. An officer was able to obtain information that a single gunshot was fired from a vehicle that sped off.

Another officer located the suspect vehicle and a motor vehicle stop was conducted. The five occupants were arrested after a loaded handgun was found inside the vehicle. The five shot revolver was loaded with four rounds of ammunition. One

All five occupants were also charged with contempt by being in violation of Governor Phil Murphy’s stay at home order.

ARRESTED: Joseph Figueroa, an 18-year-old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, contempt, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

ARRESTED: Isais Pena, a 20-year-old man from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, contempt, and certain person not to possess a weapon.

ARRESTED: Hailey Leavens, a 19-year-old woman from Mays Landing, NJ.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and contempt.

ARRESTED: Alejandra Aguirre-Lopez, a 22-year-old woman from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and contempt.

ARRESTED: Itayezci Pena-Noyola, a 22-year-old woman from Atlantic City.
CHARGES: Unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and contempt.

All five were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
