One person was stabbed to death in Atlantic City yesterday morning, and police shot and killed the man who stabbed him.

Atlantic Country Prosecutor Jim McClain issued a news release explaining just what happened:

On July 7, 2015, just before 8:30 a.m., Atlantic City police responded to a 9-1-1 call to the Cedar Market at Adriatic and Pennsylvania Avenues.
Upon arrival, police encountered a male outside.
During the ensuing confrontation, the man was shot by police. He was
transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center —City Campus for
treatment, and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Inside the Cedar Market, police found the body of a man, dead of apparent stab wounds.
The identities of those involved have not yet been released. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office is investigating.
